It started as a huge chunk of wax. I attacked it with my jewelers saw and cut a nice thick slice. Then the center gets cut out. From there, the wax was a blank canvas for creating! i carved some notches in one side, and filed down the sides to form a sleek, geometric form. Lots of sanding and polishing followed. Finally, the model is done and is cast into metal. Voila!
I love chunky, funky metal jewelry with a little bit of an edge to it. Or, as you'll see with my new bangles, a whole LOT of edge! With the photos on the right, you can see how a hunk of wax becomes a fab new bracelet!
Summer was a complete tease. It was over in two seconds, and now it's Fall, which means the HOLIDAY SEASON is nearly here. Wow. I've been working like a maniac on some new pieces that I'm rolling out as quickly as I can... I'm sooo excited about my new ARROW and HARPOON pieces. And my GEM series is.... a gem! LOL. Keep checking the website and my etsy store for updates about holiday shows I'll be selling at and new pieces available online for purchase.
